Class Schedule 2018-2019

Fellow Dancers  (UPDATED WEDNESDAY SCHEDULE BELOW)

Here’s the new 2018-2019 class schedule!
We are excited because we have made some changes to that will hopefully appeal to new and existing members
Highlights of the changes:
1) Line Dancing extravaganza. Our own Alexandra McPherson will be teaching line dances on Thursday evenings for the whole year. The classes will allow dancers to enjoy line dancing to almost all the music the club plays at parties without needing a partner. Every five week session will consist of two classes per line dance with a review class at the end for both dances. The list is on the schedule attached.
2)  The Social stream is now split into two(social 1A, 2A, 1B, 2B ) to offer more variety throughout the year. Social A will have the traditional mix of ballroom and latin/rhythm,while Social B will have Country Two Step and Night Club 2 as well as Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango.Social 3 will follow the A set of dances.
3) This year we encourage those who have attended level 3 to join the International Technique class, as a next step in dance skill development. We also encourage those students to attend or consider attending our International Silver class.
4) We’re supporting students in their dance classroom experience by dedicating our best TAs to helping out in our Level 1 and 2 classes.
Please visit our web site for answers on partner changes and other details

Free Open House – Wednesday, September 5th at Varsity Community Hall

Please join us on this evening for a free dance lesson in 5 of our popular dances, meet our Instructors, audition for higher level classes, and get to know The Calgary Dance Club.

Auditions

For higher level classes, mandatory auditions prior to classes start allow our Club professional to asses your dance ability and recommend a level for you that will maximize your dance learning and enjoyment. Our instructors are trained to provide the best instruction for that level, and an audition will ensure that both you and your classmates will have a positive and enjoyable class experience.  If you would like to join higher level classes and are unable to attend on September 5th, please contact us through our website email or by phone by September 3rd.
We are offering a free audition time at our free Open House on Wednesday, September 5th at Varsity Community Hall, from 7 pm to 9 pm.
We have a year of fun ahead of us and we hope you will join us!
