We are unique.
The Calgary Dance Club (formerly the University of Calgary Ballroom Dance Club) is Calgary’s longest running and biggest dance club. Since 1975, we’ve been offering a friendly, social place to learn and dance.
More than just another Calgary dance studio, The Calgary Dance Club is a registered Alberta not-for-profit society run on a cost-recovery basis. This means we’re in this for the love of dance, and not to make a profit.
We are a member-based organization.
This means that as a member, your opinion on how the Club is run matters. The Club Executive welcome your input through regular surveys, attending the Annual General Meeting (usually in November each year), leaving us a note at the front desk at most of our venues, or by joining the Club Executive in a volunteer position.
We teach in your Calgary community.
As a community-based dance club, we run classes in a variety of venues across Calgary and in Cochrane.

Our volunteer are in class to help you excel.
Every August, these volunteers attend a Boot Camp (second half of August each year) and audition for an Instructor or Teaching Assistant position with us. They also spend many hours every week training and preparing for your class. Interested in joining our team of volunteers? Sign up for our e-newsletter and watch for Boot Camp information in late July or early August.
We love to dance so much...
… we offer extra Workshops and Practice opportunities. Friday Workshops with General Dancing happen regularly, and we hold a Practice every Sunday morning too.Volunteer teaching assistants are often on-hand at these times to help you.
